Mr. Infinite Doles Out Advice To Upcoming Artists
Nigeria’s entertainment practitioner, Dr. Kester Okechukwu Ezuma a.k.a “Mr. Infinite”, has called on artists especially upcoming and rising ones to set long term goals as opposed to short term objectives.
Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Infinite said a lot of artistes today are more invested in the short term goals of fame, money & bright lights instead of the long term benefits like classic/evergreen music that will continue to yield/earn income, fame and spotlight for years even past the artiste’s prime.
They are more worried about staying in the moment than the longevity of their careers & music.
He said young artists today because of the pressure from their peers prefer to follow trends rather than be trailblazers.
He further reiterated that most upcoming artists lack adequate understanding of the music business.
“If there’s anything musicians are suffering from in this country, it is that most of them fail to understand the workings of the music industry. They fail to study and read so as gain the necessary information and knowledge they need to navigate the industry waters,” he said.
Mr. Infinite also postulated that the industry needs help from the government.
“We need help from the government and stakeholders to combat piracy. We need adequate laws and punishment to serve as deterrent to detractors. The artists must also take their jobs seriously too.”
He went further to explain that the fake-it-to-make-it mentality may work for some people, but it is always better for artists to try to cut their coats according to their size.
The CEO/founder of Infinite Music & Entertainment advised upcoming acts to ignore the pressures from social media, the likes, fans and thousands of followers that sometimes make you feel like you’re underachieving.
“As long as you are consistent and keep putting your best foot forward your hard work will pay off one day”, he concluded.
Mr. Infinite was born in Asata, Enugu, Nigeria on August 12, 1969, to Chief Barrister Lawrence Iloha Ezuma and Lolo Ebele Ezuma (JP).
He obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (Leadership & Strategic Management Major) from the University of America in Murrieta, California, USA. He is from Aguluezechukwu in Aguata LGA, Anambra State.
