Asaba 2022 NSF: Team Lagos On Course In Table Tennis, Football

Lagos team participating at the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State are showing superior power in some of the sports decided on Thursday.
The Lagos State Table Tennis team proved their superiority against Cross Rivers, winning 3-0 in the team event to set up Quarter-finals clash with Team Delta. The duo of Rilwan Akanbi and Adegoke Muizz were the cynosure of all eyes at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
Though Rilwan lost his first single game to Orok Etim, he was undeterred as he joined force with Muizz to snatch the show from the Delta players.
In the men’s doubles, Muizz and Augustine knocked their opponents from Cross Rivers 3-0 before Akanbi rounded off Ekpo 3-0.
Muizz defeated Akabom Ekpo in the singles 3-0 and their next game is against team Delta in the last eight phase on Friday.
Lagos’s Ezekwudo John won Lawal Sodiq from Oyo State 3-1 in the men’s singles round -one of the Deaf Table Tennis, while in another men’s singles Awosanya Babatunde triumphed 3-2 in a contest between Amole Adegoke from south-west, Oyo State.
Lagos State male football team’s meeting with Imo ended in a 2-2 stalemate at the Ogwashi-Uku Stadium, Asaba.
