How Lady Lost Her Hand Bag While Praying Inside Church

A lady, Chidera Anajegbu, had a nasty experience in Church in Lagos State after she closed her eyes while praying only to open her eyes eventually and discovered that her hand bag containing her phone and other valuables has been stolen.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Zion Prayer Movement Outreach Ministry located at Ago Palace Way, Okota area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the victim to the church for prayers and had thought that a 46-year old man, Henry Chimezie, also came to the church for same purpose not knowing he had another motive.
During the prayer session, the victim was said to have closed her eyes while praying and when the suspect, Chimezie, realized that she was deep in prayer, he stole her hand bag and attempted to escape from the church before the security men apprehended him and asked to know why he was carrying a woman’s bag.
By then the victim had opened her eyes and found out that her bag was missing. She then went to make formal report to the security men only to see the bag with the security men, who were interrogating Chimezie over the bag.
The security men having confirmed that he stole the bag, handed him over to the Police at Ago Palace Division for prosecution over the conduct.
He was subsequently charged before the Isolo Magistrates Court for allegedly stealing the bag.
He pleaded not guilty before the Court when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Solomon, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I.O. Williams, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
However, he was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned for mention.
