As the 2023 general elections draw near, the re-election bid of the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District and Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has continued to receive wide acceptability with endorsements by several interest groups and communities in the Senatorial District.
Ekwunife, who is running on the befitting political maxim entitled ‘Consolidation 2023’, had stated that she is seeking re-election based on her record of performance as well as the desire and need to consolidate on her numerous achievements in the Senate.
The Senator through out the yuletide season traversed several villages and communities in the Senatorial District celebrating and interfacing with constituents. The federal lawmaker in her usual fashion also mourned with constituents who lost their loved ones. In addition to her several engagements, the celebrated Senator honoured the invitations of political, social and other interest groups in a bid to sell her candidacy and present her scorecard in last three and half years of service to Anambra Central Senatorial District.
At the gathering of Awka Women in Umuayom village Awka, the attestation was loud. Extolling the quintessential Senator, Mrs Grace Okoloudo appreciated Ekwunife for the self-contained bungalow she built and furnished for her friend who was homeless. Okoloudo described Ekwunife’s re-election bid as divine, stating that the PDP Senatorial Candidate has no rival in the contest and will be returned elected.
When Ekwunife made a stop at the Annual General meeting of Umuowelle village Agulu, the village Chairman, Hon. Ozoemena Owoh while welcoming the Senator hailed her giant strides in Umuowelle village, pointing out the ongoing Umuowelle Village road project attracted by the Senator as one of her many achievements in Agulu. The chairman declared that the village has decided to endorse the Senator for her sterling performance.
At Ogweni-Ocha Village Adazi-Enu, the message of solidarity remained the same. Receiving Ekwunife at the village meeting, the President of the village, Mr. Oliver Nwadinobi extolled Senator Ekwunife for remembering the Village through the ongoing construction of Ogweni-Ocha road. Mr Nwadinobi noted that the Village has suffered neglect over the years until the Senator came to their rescue. He further stated that the community has resolved to vote massively for Ekwunife.
Just yesterday at Enugwu-Ukwu, the Traditional Prime Minister of Enugwu-Ukwu, Chief Dennis Anaekwe (Omenyi Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri) noted that the only thing he owes Enugwu-Ukwu community is the truth, stating that Ekwunife is one of the most reliable and truthful Lawmakers in the country. He further declared that Ekwunife has helped numerous sons and daughters of Enugwu-Ukwu. Chief Anaekwe recounted how the distinguished Senator assisted in ensuring that the township stadium was attracted to Enugwu-Ukwu and appealed to the people to give the capacity Senator total support in the upcoming election.
