The UNIZIK Incidents And Speculations By Aspiring Bloggers…

Posted on January 21, 2023

Yesterday, there was a tripartite meeting comprising Representatives of the Anambra State government, leadership of the Nigeria Police Force and Management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
My people, the revelations di egwu. Like they say, “security details are not for the press”. The good news is that, “pikin wey say him mama no go sleep, don begin collect him own wotowoto”.
Let me say this, the robberies, as real as they are, also now have the usual elements of exaggeration from social media “influenzas” who are beginning to infect the situation with fake news or over bloated reality. For instance, the night before our visit, it was alleged that JJ palace hostel was under attack and that three persons had been shot dead right in front of Destiny Pot fast food ifite — that one na bobo. No be true!
We visited JJ Palace and no Student, including the lodge President could provide anyone who was robbed on the night under review. Yes, they had experienced similar incidents in the past, certainly not the night they trended the issue on social media. Again, we asked to know the identity of the purportedly shot students at Destiny pot, neither the school authority nor those who live and do business around the said location could remember any such untrue allegation.
While the State has swinged into action, abeg make una help us beg our aspiring bloggers in UNIZIK to avoid spreading fear and unverifiable news about the situation. This will help a lot!
