Organisers say five centres would host all matches when the Lagos State Challenge Cup kicks off this month.

Chairman Technical Committee of Lagos State Football Association LDFA,Dotun Coker told our correspondent that five centres would be used in this year’s Lagos FA Cup.

The selected centres are FIFA legacy pitch, Surulere, Albati Barracks sports center, Ojuelegba, Strong Tower, Ikorodu, Unity Primary school football pitch, Ajegunle and Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island.

Following the pressure from the club owners, coaches and football administrators that some centres should be excluded from hosting matches, the organisers and title sponsor, Winners Golden Bet, BETWGB have decided to rule out Epe center, Alade sports center,Ipaja Command and rehabilitation sports center, Isheri-Oke Ojodu Berger ahead of annual football biggest competition in the state.

Asked why some centres are excluded from hosting some matches,Coker said the five centres have been approved by the Lagos FA board members.

He however revealed that following the numbers of teams that registered, five centres are enough to host all the matches within the stipulated time.

“The Lagos FA board members and our sponsor have resolved to use five centres for the competition so let leave it there. We are orgainsing the draw conference on Wednesday and we would discuss more about the centres,”he said.
