Expatriate Manager In Police Net For Stealing Company’s N30m

An expatriate and sales manager of Mendi Global Services, Youssef Khalil Hassan, has been arrested for allegedly stealing the company’s N30m in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Allen Avenue, Ikeja area of Lagos, where the company is located.
According to the Police, the 23-year old suspect allegedly conspired with others now at large between 2021 till November 2022 and stole the money with the intention that the company will not know.
However, when the company carried out internal audit and discovered that the money was missing, Hassan, who was the Sales Manager of the company, was confronted but he was unable to give satisfactory answers over the missing money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Area F Command, Ikeja, Lagos. Hassan was then arrested and detained for interrogation over the conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The Court ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 3rd April, 2023, for mention.
