2 Suspects In Police Net Over Gang R*pe Of Girl,15

Police operatives from the Nasarawa State Command have arrested two suspects, Aminu Hashimu, 24 and Luka Dogara,18, residents of Owoloshi Street, Obi, Nasarawa, over alleged gang rape of a 15-year old girl. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed that the suspects were in Police custody undergoing interrogation over their conduct.
He stated that the arrest of the suspects were carried out by Police operatives attached to Obi Division after an intensive manhunt after they committed the alleged assault on the victim and fled.
He stated that on 2nd March, 2023, at about 18:30 hours a complaint was lodged at Obi Police Division that one Aminu Hashimu, a 24-year-old boy and Luka Dogara, an 18-year old boy criminally conspired and raped a teenager of 15 years old at Obi.
Upon receipt of the report, an investigation and manhunt were launched by Police operatives attached to Obi Division for the suspects. Consequently, on 3rd March, 2023, the aforementioned suspects were arrested at different locations in Obi town and Lafia, respectively.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects lured the victim, who had hearing impairment, to their residence at Okpe Street, Obi, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination and the Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Baba, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the case; saying upon conclusion, the suspects will be charged to Court for prosecution.
The suspects risk several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court for the alleged rape.
