Goodvine School Proprietress Urges Lagos Govt To Create More Sport Centres For School Sports

Proprietress of Goodvine Group of Schools, Mrs Grace Aghulor has called on Lagos state government led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu to create more sporting facilities in the state to enable private schools encourage their students to fully involve in sporting activities.

Aghulor made this disclosure at the recent Goodvine Group of Schools 5th biennial inter house sports competition which held recently at Caleb sport ground, Magodo, Lagos.

Speaking with our correspondent, the school Proprietress explained that the only way school sports can grow is for the government to provide more recreational sports centres where schools can use the facilities in preparation for their inter house sports competitions or state school sports competitions.

“We have talents in private schools but our major challenge is venue.We lack sports centres in Lagos and i am using this medium to urge our able governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to look into sports facilities in his second time so that more private schools would engage in sporting activities,”she said.

Assessing this year’s Inter house sports, Aghulor said this year’s edition was superb and commended the parents and guardians for their support to make this year’s edition a huge success.

She however congratulated all the houses involved in the battle and particularly commended the winning house for the job well done.

In his own comment, chairman of the event, Chuks Aghulor expressed satisfaction with the standard of participants and urged the state government to create sports facilities to enable private schools to use for their sporting activities.

While the school principal, Pastor Ojo Sunday Peter thanked God for the success of the inter house sports competition and urged the parents and guardians to allow their children to involve in sporting activities.

Meanwhile in the final results released by the officials, Blue house emerged champions with 17 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze.

Green house occupied second position with 10 gold, 14 silver and 7 bronze, while Yellowe house maintained third position with 9 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze as Pink house are fourth position on the table with 5 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze.
