2 Men Docked For Gang-R*ping & Uploading Of Lady’s Nude Picture On Social Media

A lady had a nasty experience after she lodged in a popular hotel in Lagos, was lured and gang raped by co-lodgers, who took her nude picture and uploaded it on the social media in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the two suspects behind the alleged dastardly act, Joseph Okpa, 30 and Daniel Chijioke, have been arrested for conspiracy and statutory rape.
The incident happened at Exclusive Manson Hotel located at Lekki area of Lagos, where both the suspects and the lady lodged.
According to the Police, the suspects lured the lady, who also lodged in the hotel, forcefully took her to the hotel’s bathroom and raped her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and they were arrested. They were later transferred to the SCID, Yaba, Lagos, for further investigation over the alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Yaba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if found guilty.
However, the Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asking the Court to give a date for hearing and refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the defendants pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P. E. Nwaka, ordered their remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
