Police Bust 5-Man Vandalism Syndicate During Operation

Police Operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested 5-man syndicate, which allegedly specialized in vandalizing electricity cables in Lagos State. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were Ukah Gabriel ‘m’ aged 29, Emmanuel Ajikula ‘m’ aged 29, Athanisus Lornumbe ‘m’ aged 28, Titus Akuha ‘m’ aged 18 and Felix Lornumbe ‘m’ aged 27.

They are currently detained in Police custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged criminal conduct and exhibits were also recovered from them by the Police.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed their arrest and detention in Police custody.

He explained that the suspects were arrested in the act by the Police operatives from Alausa Division of the Lagos State Police Command for vandalizing Lagos State Electricity Board cables mounted around 7-Up Bottling Company, Alausa area of Lagos State.

He stated that they were arrested on Monday, 24th April, 2023, following receipt of credible intelligence on the suspicious movement of some hoodlums in the area.

“Their operational tools and vandalized cables were recovered from the suspects as exhibits and they have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Yaba for further investigation.”

 

SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for prosecution over the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
