Medical Doctor Docked Over R*pe Of Nurse & Recording Their Sexual Action

A Medical Doctor, Ayodele Joseph, has been arrested in Kwara State for allegedly raping a patient, who is a nurse and recording their action on his mobile phone. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in Ilorin Town, Kwara State, where Dr Joseph has a hospital.
The Medical Doctor has been charged on two counts of act of gross indecency and rape contrary to Sections 285 and 283 of the penal code, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty.
The Police alleged that the doctor seduced the patient, who is a professional nurse, while she was on treatment at the hospital and raped her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police; he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police said that during the investigation into the matter, it led to the recovery of a video recording containing sexual acts on the victim while medical tests also confirmed that the nurse was sexually assaulted.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr. Gbenga Ayeni, informed the Court of the gravity of the offence and the motion attached to the Police report seeking the remand of the suspect.
The Presiding Magistrate, Gbadeyan Jumoke Kamson, granted the prosecutor, Ayeni’s prayer and ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center pending when the DPP’s report will be ready.
The matter was adjourned till 18th May, 2023, for report of DPP’s legal advice to be made available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
