Osun Police Command Clears Air On Viral Video Of Policeman Beating A Woman

The Osun State Police Command said that their attention has been drawn to the viral video trending on social media showing a Policeman beating a woman standing beside a Police patrol vehicle.
The Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the trending video on social media was the video of an incident that happened in Iwo area of the State during the COVID-19 lockdown in April, 2020. The Policemen involved were made to face the Force disciplinary measures and they have been sanctioned accordingly.
The Police Command wishes to state that the video is misinforming and misleading, which is a calculated attempt to incite members of the public against the Police.
The CP therefore, enjoined the general public to disregard the viral video/information and warned against spreading or peddling of an incident that has happened years ago just to trigger members of the public’s anger against the Police.
