pA cleric, Pastor Lucky Omoha, has pleaded with the Court not to dissolve his marriage with his wife, Juliet, because he still loves her not minding the fact that they have been childless in their marriage.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embattled Lucky made the appeal at Customary Court in Nyanya area of FCT, Abuja, where his wife filed a suit seeking for the dissolution of their marriage.
While giving evidence in a divorce petition filed by his wife on grounds of the couple’s childlessness and ill treatment by her parents-in-law, Lucky told the Court that despite their condition of childlessness, he still loves his wife and does not want the marriage to be dissolved.
He admitted before the Court that their marriage was facing challenges because they had no child yet and his parents were not happy about that and had been hurting his wife, but he never supported his parents.
“I still love my wife and I will always love her; even in our childlessness.
I have told my wife not to worry that God will bless us with a child that will stay, that will not die.”
“My wife knows that I love her so much and that I have never supported my parents ill-treatment of her,” Omoha said.
However, the petitioner, Juliet Omoha, who was present in Court, told the Court that she was no longer going to bear the trauma she was facing in the marriage and wanted to quit in order to have rest of mind and move on with her life.
She noted that though her husband never joined his parents to reproach her over their childless status, but sometimes lashes out at her during misunderstandings.
“When we have little misunderstanding, he brings up all those offensive and provocative statements made against me by his parents, just to hurt me. I don’t want to continue with this marriage,” she said.
The Presiding Judge, Doocivir Yawe, having listened to the parties, adjourned the matter till 30th May, 2023, for Judgment
