Man, 71 Sent To Prison For Biting Off Woman’s Nose During Public Brawl

A 71-year man, Clifford Udouko and his son, Ekomen Udouko, have been arrested for allegedly inflicting serious injury on a woman, Daramola Olawunmi, by biting off her nose in a public fight in Ogun State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 5th June, 2023, at about 4.50pm on Ariyo Street, via Lafenwa, Itele, Ota in Ogun State, where they reside.
They have been charged before an Ota Magistrate Court in Ogun State for conspiracy and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector E. O. Adaraloye, told the Court that the defendants and others now at large, committed the alleged assault and as well conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by using offensive language on the victim, which contravened the provisions of Sections 390(9), 395 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The Magistrate, Mrs. A. O. Adeyemi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The Court also ordered that the surety must reside within the Court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.
The matter was adjourned till 24th August, 2023, for further hearing while the defendants were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
