It was gathered that the suspect, who the police was yet to disclose his identity, was arrested around the Egbeda area with good number of vehicles plates supposed to have been in possession of the Federal Road Safety Commission or other agents in charge of such.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when the suspect was apprehended and asked where he got the plates, he refused to disclose or refer the police to his principal.
He was then taken to the Area Command where he was said to have made useful statement to the police.
When our correspondent visited the Command, the suspect was still detained but the police declined to speak on the matter and the Area Commander, Akika was not available for briefing.
However, police sources at the Command confirmed the incident and that the vehicle plates recovered from the suspect has been kept as exhibits.
It was also gathered that the Area Commander might transfer the matter to SCID Panti for further investigation so the matter could be charged to court.
P.M.EXPRESS learnt that since the introduction of mini police station on the streets as directed by the CP Edgar, so many arrests have been made especially at the Area M Command in Lagos.
However, cultism and the activities of ‘yahoo boys’ were still on the high side in the area as the police were seen almost on daily basis battling the suspected criminals in the area.
It was gathered that some criminals dislodged elsewhere were gradually assembling in Idimu and Ayobo areas as their new operation bases and the police were yet to tackle the matter.
