Robbers Burgle Mosque In Lagos

Places of worship are no longer safe as robbers seem to have shifted focus by targeting both the churches and mosques to steal in Lagos.

While the churches were battling to secure the worship centers, the men of the underworld shifted their focus to mosques in the state. The latest was the invasion of mosque by robbers who stormed to steal money as they have done in several churches in Lagos.

The incident happened at a Central Mosque located at 156 Ijesha road in Itire, Lagos. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the robbers invaded the place in the evening in search of money and other valuables, but it was not clear if they found any money there.

However, one of the suspects, Gbenga Odunmade has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for the alleged invasion and was remanded in prison custody. He was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for felony and stealing under the Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O Adedayo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition and the matter was adjourned till 27th of October, 2017.
