Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, have arrested the receptionist of Eagle Rock Garden & Suites, Ago Okota, for allegedly aiding the escape of one Mr. Kelvin over the death of a young lady, who he lodged with in the hotel.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the receptionist was indicted for negligence and arrested for questioning for allowing the prime suspect, Kelvin, to escape with the room key whereas the lady, who he lodged with was still inside the room.
The lifeless body of the lady was discovered in one of the rooms at the hotel located at 102 Yale Okeowo Street, off Community Road, Ago Palace area, Okota, Lagos, after Kelvin, who is now on the run, checked into the hotel with the lady.
Few minutes after Kelvin left the lady behind in the room and escaped, the management of the hotel later discovered the lifeless body of the young lady.
The prime suspect, Kelvin, lodged in the hotel around 11pm on Wednesday last week with the deceased after he made a transfer payment of N9,000 for the room and entered with her. Later he came downstairs, inquiring about the closing time of the hotel gate as he planned to visit a club and assured that he would return soon because his girlfriend was still inside the room.
It was the following morning that the management discovered the horrific death after several attempts to gain access by knocking on the door and there was no response. It was at that point they peeped through the window and saw her leg on the floor.
The Police at Ago Palace Division were contacted, they forced the door open and the lady was found dead on the floor naked with an inhaler and forming from her mouth.
The Police recovered the corpse and deposited at mortuary for autopsy reports while the receptionist was arrested and transferred to the SCID Yaba, Lagos for further investigation.
The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and stated that the Police have began investigation on the matter as the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
