Soludo And His Gospel Of Homeland Rebirth Gains Momentum

Yesterday was beyond a town hall meeting. It was a redefinition of leadership and a reenactment of the fundamental principles of democracy — a people’s assembly where all opinion matter. Soludo has continued to insist on this style of governance where legitimacy is not only a recognized prerogative of the people, but one fully handed over to them for use.

The side-talks, for me, were all I focused on not minding that the formal presentations were not different. Ndi Anambra sitted at the Bolton White Event Centre, Abuja, expressed a deep satisfaction at this novel strategy of bringing governance to their door steps. They also found the core message of the meeting timeous, inspiring and important. The gospel according to Soludo is about the prosperity of the homeland and the need for our huge human capital base to channel greater energy into improving the fortunes of the State; making it choice destination rather than a departure lounge.

Soludo is unrelenting in his quest to redeem the homeland, and is doing all that is necessary to rebuild homeland consciousness as his major strategy for its socioeconomic development. The message is simple, straight and clear, “it is in your best interest to come back home and invest”. No one argued this and the sparks around the hall show indications of huge acceptance leaving no one in doubt that Anambra and indeed Alaigbo may just be back to winning ways.
