F. A. Cup: ‘Why Akwa United Were So Ruthless Against Katsina Feeders’
FRANCIS ACHI/Abuja

Having kept a clean sheet for Akwa United in the 7-0 demolition of Katsina United Feeders team at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo on Sunday, Ojo Olorunleke has said that operation no mercy was deployed against their young visitors , as he noted that they never underrated their opponents in the affair.
According to the former Flying Eagles’ goalkeeper in a chat, Akwa United were ruthless in the encounter due to the fact they aimed at making the reverse fixture in Katsina a no contest, adding that they would have scored more than 7 goals if Katsina United Feeders had not resulted into some negative antics in the game
” Well,we knew we were going to score many goals, but we were not specific on the number. We just wanted to win well at home. The goals could have been more than seven if not for the antics of our opponents,” Olorunleke said.
He further said that Akwa United will approach the 2nd leg to be played this Wednesday at the Mohammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina with the same winning mentality they used to defeat the relatively young side that just gained promotion from the Nationwide League One, NLO to the Nigeria National League, NNL.
” We want to keep on with momentum in the F.A Cup. We just want to keep the good work going by coming out victorious again in Katsina on Wednesday. I know it will not be easy , but it is too late for Katsina United Feeders to stop Akwa United. They have reached their last bus stop.”
From all indications , Akwa United will play Sunshine Stars in the semi final of this year’s F.A. Cup in Nigeria. The other semi – final fixture is between Niger Tornadoes and FC Ifeanyi, the defending champions of the competition.
