A 24-year old man, Musa Ajadi, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 17-year old girl into a hotel and engaging her in sex romp.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ajadi, has been arrested and charged for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The incident happened on 10th July, 2023, at the popular Orisu Hotel, located at Railway line, Ijora Badia area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect got the girl confused, lured her into the hotel and engaged her in sex before he allowed her to go. But before then, the information had leaked and the girl eventually told her parents that the suspect, Ajadi, lured her into the act.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over his conduct.
During interrogation,  the suspect insisted that he actually did it with her consent, which was contrary to what the girl had claimed as equally insisted that she was lured into it without her consent.
The Police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under Section 137 of the Criminal code.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 4th October, 2023, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be made available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
