Jealous Housewife, 24, Kills Co-Wife’s Four-Day Old Baby With Insecticide

The Police intelligence operativess have arrested a 24-year old jealous housewife, Mrs. Furera Abubakar, for allegedly killing her co-wife’s four-day old baby with Gramalin insecticide before the baby’s naming ceremony in Bauchi State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Bantu village, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where they reside.

 

This was disclosed by the spokesman of Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect was in custody undergoing interrogation over the alleged conduct.

 

He stated that the baby was born on the 15th August, 2023 and was murdered by the suspect, Mrs. Furera, on the 19th August, 2023, at their residence.

SP Wakil stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the co-wife’s room with liquid insecticide (Gramalin) and applied it to the unhealed umbilical cord of the baby.

“The liquid, which was suspected to have corrosive effect, led to the deterioration of the baby’s health and subsequent death.”

He stated that following the complaint,  the suspect was arrested, detained for interrogation and investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be profiled and charged before the Court accordingly for murder, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
