A 60-year old landlord, Durojaiye Idowu, has been arrested for allegedly defecating and fighting his tenant, Mrs. Faith Olubunmi Balogun, with faeces in order to eject her from his apartment in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Esubiyi Street, Mende, Maryland area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The matter was reported to the Police at Anthony Village Division. The Police then arrested the landlord, Idowu, for his alleged unruly conduct by defecating, breaking into Mrs. Balogun’s  apartment and pouring faeces inside her room.
He was alleged to have done so between 5th and 6th August, 2023 before the  matter was reported to the Police and he was subsequently arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
During interrogation, the landlord, Idowu, reportedly complained against the tenant and claimed that he did so in order to eject her from the apartment and take possession.
However, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Uche Irabo, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. R.A. Alejo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
