A 42-year old man, Ahmed Babatunde, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured his neighbour’s 8-year old twin sisters and engaged them in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Babatunde has been arrested and charged for defilement.
The incident happened at BCCU located at Iwaya Road, Yaba area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect lured the victims at different periods into his apartment and engaged them in the act but warned them not to tell anyone about it.
However, the victims later revealed what happened to their parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Sabo Division. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the SCID, Yaba, for interrogation over the alleged offence.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asking the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
