Police Officer To Die By Hanging Over Alleged Murder Of Bolanle Raheem

A Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on Monday, 9th October, 2023, sentenced one Police Officer, Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for allegedly killing a Lagos lawyer, Mrs. Bolanle Raheem, on the 25th December, 2022, at Ajah roundabout, Ajah Lagos. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Directorate of Public Prosecutions called 11 witnesses including eight Police Officers and tendered 27 exhibits in evidence against the defendant, while the convict solely testified in his defence.

The defendant, who was arraigned before Hon. Justice Ibironke Harrison at the High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of murder which violates section 223 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Ibironke Harrison, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and thereby convicted and sentenced the defendant accordingly.
