2 men, Muiz Quadri and Elijah Ayelagba, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly separately engaging their neighbour’s 15-year old girl in sex before it got exposed.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incidents happened at Jimoh and Aseju Street in Ijora Badia area of Lagos, where they resided respectively.
They have been arrested and charged for defilement.
According to Police, the suspects at different times allegedly engaged the victim in the romp without each knowing until it got exposed. Her parents asked and she mentioned the two men for engaging her in sex separately.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the they were arrested. They were later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
During interrogation, they admitted to have done so but with her consent. But that did not save them as the Police found them culpable for engaging a minor in sexual act, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The two men were consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence. But the Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, moved a motion asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
Thus,  the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
