How Nigeria Can Ensure Seamless Rollout Of 6G Network – NCC
The body regulating the communication industry in Nigeria, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), has posited that collaboration, innovation and proactive measures should be employed to mitigate emerging risks ahead of 6G rollout.
Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, disclosed this while speaking at two-day telecom industry risk management conference held in Lagos with the theme “Evolution and Future Risk Management in the Telecoms Industry: Harnessing Emerging Technologies and Trends.”
Mr. Ubale Maska, NCC Executive Commissioner of Technical Services at NCC, who represented Aminu, said that to ensure seamless integration of the technology, proactive measures must be taken ahead of the rollout of 6G.
He explained that to cope with this dynamic environment, effective risk management became increasingly important.
“Today we find ourselves at the intersection of tradition and change, where new technologies and trends offer unprecedented opportunities and challenges.
“As we discuss the current landscape of 5G networks, which offer a larger attack surface due to greater numbers of connected devices and denser network infrastructure, it is essential to even look to the future.
“We are witnessing the dawn of 6G technology, the next frontier in wireless communications.
“With the promise of even higher speeds, lower latency and innovative applications, 6G has the potential to revolutionize the way we experience connectivity,” said Aminu.
However, he said that with this progress comes the responsibility to address new risks posed by cybersecurity threats.
