Kogi Farmers Commend Governor Ododo’s Measures To Boost Security

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has been commended for taken proactive measures aimed at boosting food production and better the lives of farmers in the state.

The chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kogi state chapter, Alhaji Salihu Adobanyi gave the commendation while speaking with news men shortly after an enlarged meeting between Kogi state Governor and Farmers in the state held in Lokoja.

Alhaji Salihu Adobanyi said the recent approval of the Governor to have an interface with farmers in the state to deliberate on critical issues on Agriculture was a welcome development, describing him as farmers friendly Governor.

He added that in less than a month that Governor Ahmed Ododo assumed office, Agriculture has received major attention in his administration, noting that his plans for Agriculture will turn around the economic fortune of the state.

The AFAN chairman expresses confidence that Governor Ododo will look into the monstrous challenges confronting farmers in the state, noting that the Governor was committed to revolutionise the Agricultural sector.

Alhaji Adobanyi also praised the commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Timothy Ojoma and other members of the state executive council for their efforts in ensuring a successful Farmers meeting with the Governor.

In line with the Governor’s directive to AFAN to immediately make available a comprehensive and accurate bio- data of farmers in the state, the AFAN chairman disclose that necessary steps have been taken to get a comprehensive list of direct farmers across the 21 local government areas of the state and called on farmers to cooperate with AFAN to ensure a hitch free and successful data capturing exercise.

He said a comprehensive data capturing of farmers will serve as a template for Government in the provision of Agricultural inputs to farmers at subsidized rates and pledges unalloyed support of farmers in the state to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led administration.
