MTN Nigeria To Build Iconic Green Building As New Corporate Head Office
Karl Toriola, the CEO of MTN Nigeria, has announced the telecommunications giant’s plans to build its corporate head office in Lagos.
The new headquarters will be housed in an iconic green building, emphasizing MTN’s commitment to green practices and sustainability standards.
Toriola revealed in a recent interview with Arise News that the decision to relocate comes as part of MTN’s strategic vision for the future.
“We are proceeding with the design of our head office. I am not sure if we would break ground this year; I hope so. Otherwise, we would advance on that,” he stated whilst highlighting the ongoing design process and the organization’s determination to create a state-of-the-art structure.
In a nod to environmental responsibility, MTN had previously disclosed plans to construct a green building as its headquarters.
Toriola confirmed that the necessary land had been procured for the project, and the design processes are already underway.
The CEO expressed optimism about the timeline, estimating that the construction of the new headquarters would be completed within four years or less.
“The Green Building” is set to become a symbol of MTN’s commitment to sustainable business practices.
The company aims to align its operations with environmentally friendly standards, contributing to the broader global effort to combat climate change.
During the interview, when pressed about the location of the new head office, Toriola remained tight-lipped, saying, “No, I can’t tell. We have procured the land, design is ongoing, and we will make it an iconic state-of-the-art green building in Lagos.”
This air of mystery surrounding the location adds an element of anticipation and excitement to MTN’s upcoming corporate move.
As the telecommunications giant forges ahead with its ambitious plans, the construction of “The Green Building” is expected to make a significant impact on Lagos’ skyline, symbolizing MTN’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and corporate responsibility.
