National Vice Chairman (SouthEast) Dissociates Self From Purported Ondo APC Primaries List

Posted on April 18, 2024
Tension may heighten within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, concerning the constitution of the Ondo APC Primaries Committee List as the National Vice Chairman (SouthEast Zone), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, said that he was not consulted as a member of NWC.
Dr. Arodiogbu, faulted the 90-man list, which he said did not have his input nor that of a majority of members of the 25-man National Working Committee of the party, which he is a member.
He noted that since the constitution of the membership of such a committee was a national affair, then members of the NWC ought to have made their own inputs to give the list some semblance of collective leadership and not the restriction to only two offices as this naturally may affect the performance of the committee in such a keenly contested primary election. He also stated that such non involvement of a majority of NWC members could be wrongly interpreted as a ploy to foist an unpopular candidate on the party members in Ondo State.
He called on the National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and the National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, to repudiate the list and seek the inputs of all members of the NWC members as the constitution of the party dictates. This he said was pertinent to avoid the drama that played out in the Edo primaries, where the NWC inaugurated a committee and a parallel committee was formed and inaugurated by aides of some members of the NWC.
