Ambode’s Aide Throws Weight Behind Buruj Sports Academy

The Senior Special Adviser on Sports to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Anthony Adeboye, has thrown his full weight behind the management of Buruj Sports Academy as the academy intensifies preparations for the next international engagement and celebration of its 10th anniversary early next year.
Speaking during a courtesy call to his office by the Managing Director of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, to thank him for his unflinching support for all its activities over the years and to seek for more cooperation and partnership ahead of the upcoming activities, the sports-loving SSA expressed joy and satisfaction for what he described as commitment to professionalism and integrity by the management team of Buruj led by Dr. Salaudeen, in all their dealings over the years.
“I want to say that I am highly impressed with what Buruj Sports Academy has been doing over the past few years for our young footballers across the country and particularly, in Lagos. I’ve been following their progress overtimes and I can testify to their commitment to the values of integrity and professionalism in everything they are doing.”
“I want to pledge my personal commitment to continue to do everything within my power to assist and support those initiatives. I am a grassroots person and any initiative that will help youths from the grassroots need the support of well meaning individuals.”
“These are kind of programmes that the present administration under His Excellency Governor Ambode want to encourage to partner and synergise with. I am sure that in due course, Buruj Sports Academy will attract the attention they deserves from relevant quarters,” he posited.
It would be recalled that following the exploits of the Ikorodu-based outfit at the 2017 Manchester Super Cup held in the United Kingdom where they emerged as champions, the management of the academy wrote to sought an audience with His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos, to present the trophy they won. The team is billed to travel to Europe again in the first quarter of next year and Mr. Adeboye has vowed to fully back the team in all ramifications.
