The last Ofala of Igwe Sir. Dr. Kris Chinedum Ifemenam Onyekwuluje (Eze Nya) served as a poignant reminder of life’s transient nature, as per tradition where traditional rulers are believed to transcend to join their ancestors after their earthly presence. Eze Nya, hailed as a great king and ruler, dedicated his life to serving his community of Umunya.

At the final Ofala gathering, attendees came together to honour the enduring legacy of this exceptional monarch. Amidst somber reflections, tribute was paid to a leader whose influence extended far beyond his kingdom’s borders. Eze Nya’s journey to the realm of his ancestors left behind a profound impact, characterized by his broad-mindedness, wisdom, honesty, and approachable demeanor. His legacy, marked by qualities of gentleness, wit, and humility, leaves a void that reverberates within his subjects.

As we face the uncertainty of the future, we acknowledge that Eze Nya’s essence lives on within us. His life exemplified service, compassion, and resilience, and his legacy will serve as a guiding light for generations to come.

During the proceedings of the Last Ofala, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, OFR (Dikeora, Ebekuo Dike Umunya), Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, demonstrated the qualities that earned him recognition and honor from Igwe Sir. Dr. Kris Chinedum Onyekweluje as Ebekuo Dike and a member of his cabinet.

Despite his reluctance to receive praise, the royal family and friends couldn’t help but shower him with accolades, acknowledging his unwavering friendship and loyalty till the very end. His remarkable presence and contributions were undeniable, prompting a moment of heartfelt appreciation amidst the somber atmosphere. DIKE!

“In the intricate fabric of existence, our lives intertwine, forming a narrative of remembrance and legacy. As we commemorate Eze Nya’s final Ofala, let us recall his words: ‘A king’s worth is not in his crown, but in the depth of his kindness and the strength of his character.’ Igwe Sir. Dr. Kris Chinedum Ifemenam Onyekwuluje’s impact endures in the hearts of those his path crossed.”
