A 36-year-old lady, Adeyemo Rukayat Omolara, residing at 1, Olawunmi Close, Tolulope Ajara Seje area of Badagry Local Government Area, has narrated how she miraculously escaped slaughters’ slab of the ritualists by the whisker on Friday, 19 September, 2014.

Narrating her ordeal to P.M. EXPRESS, Omolara, mother of two, said she had already been declared missing by the family because her phone has not only been seized but also switched off. She said their neighbour, who had apparently been lying in wait, offered her a car lift on her way from work which she obliged, oblivious of his evil plans with other accomplices.

According to her, she saw the red flag when Tiamiyu, their presumed neighbour, wanted to hypnotize her by rubbing a greasy substance that would put her to deep sleep before taking her to their slaughter slab for ritual purposes or parts harvesting.

She said her loud shout for help distracted the driver and before they knew it, she had jumped out of the car. Upon landing on her back with a shrill cry, she scampered for safety and fled into the bush. The driver abruptly applied the brakes to halt the car. For hours, she made darkness her hidden place until her abductors were fed up after hurling blames at one another for the costly lapse.

To cover their track and make good their intent, the next morning Tiamiyu and his group came looking for her at home. They invaded their house, ransacked everywhere to see if they could whisk her off. But on the realization that she was not there, they inflicted deep matchet cuts on her households, including her parents and before setting the house ablaze, promising to fish her out at all cost because she has already been “marked.”

Ritual killings have been on the ascendancy in Badagry. While it is correct to assert that agents of these blood-thirsty vampires are spread across the state, such black spots in and around that axis, however, are Badagry border, Cele express along Apapa-Oshodi expressway and Mile 2. Omolara’s ordeal was coming after a foiled kidnap attempt by a woman sometime May, 2014 in Ejigbo area of the state.

A neighbour, who witnessed the vicious invasion and who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said “Omolara has been on-the-run since she escaped their noose. Sadly, if formal complaints were lodged, these suspects would be arrested by the police but, before anyone knows it, they would set them free on the order from the above’ which did not come as any surprise. Na today?, she quipped.

“In so many instances, arrested suspects have pointed at some acclaimed high and mighty in our society, including the traditional institutions, senior government officials and top politicians, who are desperate to hold on to power and reckoning, as sponsors of these animalistic acts. The insatiable lust for power and money drives them into ritualism.

“To perpetrate their evil acts and prey their unsuspecting victims, these agents could disguise as friendly neighbours, mad persons, employers of labour, masquerades, passersby, commuters, transporters, stranded visitors, fortune tellers and even money-ritualists among others.

“2015 elections are loading; cases of ritual killings, organ harvesting and unexplainable disappearance of innocent persons are common when major elections are coming. These people specialized in getting and selling human parts, most especially female ones which are more in demand to politicians who pay them for parts, especially fresh parts rather than dead body parts,, she said.

“”Her parents have been rushed to a nearby hospital by the neighbours. Unlike others who never live to share their ordeal with anyone, Omolara should be thanking her stars that she was not met at home. They would have taken her away in broad daylight and nothing would happen.

“It is not uhuru yet for her because once attempt has been made on someone, they wouldn’t backslide until their evil plans come to fruition. Do not be deceived, there are some people that are above the law in this country,”‘ she further added.
