Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad, Ikeja, Lagos, have arrested three suspected robbers, who invaded a Military Cantoment and stole a vehicle belonging to a woman, Chioma Nbaka.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 28th April, 2024, at MOQ63 Army Cantoment, Ikeja, Lagos, where the suspects and others now at large conspired and stole an unregistered Volkswagen T-Wagon worth N1.3m.
According to the Police, the suspects, Isaac Shiuma, 24, Peter Adamu, 25 and Michael Elijah, 25 and others at large, went to the place where the vehicle was parked in the evening inside the Cantoment and stole it.
However, they ran out of luck as they had almost escaped before information leaked. The matter was reported to the Police at CPSS and they moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After exhaustive interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
