Man, 33, Docked For Stealing Woman’s N8m Toyota RAV4 SUV

A 33-year old man, Patrick Eugere, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a Toyota RAV4 SUV worth N8m belonging to a woman, Diana Okufosure. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 24th May, 2024, at the Kehinde Taylor Estate off College Road, Ijaiye Ifako area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect went to the place where the vehicle was parked, disconnected and stole it without the consent of the owner, who later discovered that the vehicle was missing.
The owner reported the missing vehicle to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos for necessary action. The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the Command for interrogation over the missing vehicle.
The Police did not disclose if the vehicle was recovered or not but found the suspect culpable for the missing vehicle after interrogation and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
On the charge sheet, the Police alleged the suspect to have stolen the vehicle with registration number, LSR 417GA belonging to the owner,  Diana Okuffosure, worth N8m.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to bring witnesses to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 10th July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
