A group of people with love for Bashiru Lawrence Ali (OON), fondly called Bash Ali by his admirers, have inaugurated a Fans Club for the first Guinness World Record (GWR)  Fight in Africa.

He said at the weekend ahead of Bash Ali’s visit to Enugu State on Monday as a guest of the state government to inspect some facilities which are meant for the state to co-host the Guinness Book of World Record championship which holds in Nigeria very soon.

Osuala, who said that members of the  fans club are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the world champion to the Coal City State on Monday, revealed that the fans club was formed after extensive consultations with like minds such as HRH Igwe Austin Nwankwo, HRH Igwe Dr. A. I. Ofuebe, Amb. Jonathan Ikoroha, Dr. John Kennedy Osuala, Amb. Anthony Okereke, Amb. Ernest Biamii, Chief Darrick Wakama, Arc. Ibrahim Durodola, Hon. Larry Bhadmus, Rev. Ajibola Lawal, Alhaji Jafaru Dango, Alhaji Nura Natala, Alhaji Musa Yakubu, Comrade K. C. Ameh, Adamu Amshi, Naziru Dabi Ringim, Kabiru Yusuf, Hon. “Following the consultations, and approval with our own very Boxing Legend of all time, and Professor of World Boxing, Bash Lawrence Ali, Comrade Kelechi C. Ameh, was unanimously elected the National Co-ordinator of the Fans Club, with a mandate to mobilize more than 20 million Nigerian youths, to support our First Guiness World Record fight in Africa Project.

“It is germane to appreciate the Professor of World Boxing, Bash Ali, for the conceptualization of this great project, and the rugged doggedness to continuously fight for its realization, over a twenty years period. This is rare patriotism. This is first class patriotism. This is quite essential patriotism. So many challenges have come his way. So many approvals from Nigerian authorities, have also come his way.

“Yet, the fight could not be staged, but he fought on, and continues to fight on. Bash Ali has a positive can do attitude, and spirit of a champion. This is what he has in common with five other greatest boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali, heavy weight champion of the world, Joe Louis, heavy weight champion of the world, Sugar Ray Robinson, middle weight champion of the world, Henry Armstrong, light weight champion of the world.

“And so we are convinced that by the end of this First Guinness World Record Fight in Africa’s greatest country, Nigeria, Bash Ali, will enter the Guiness Book of Records as the Greatest Crown Prince of World Boxing of all times.

“What are we going to do then? We will transform the Fans Club for Guiness World Record Fight, into Bash Ali Foundation for World Sports, so as to promote and advance the ideals of Bash Ali as a patriot, boxer, humanist and anti-corruption crusader, ” he said.

Osuala wants corporate Nigeria and other well meaning citizens as well as “all lovers of sports, individuals and  and governments to support the Guiness World Record Fight massively, by donations, sponsorships, subscriptions.”
