Engineer Arrested For Carting Away Building Materials At Federal Govt Site

A Site Engineer at Federal Government Housing, Akinnishe Anthony, has landed in trouble for allegedly carting away building materials worth millions of Naira in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Plot 18, Federal Government Site in Isheri Olofin area of Lagos, where Anthony was engaged as Engineer to build the house by Dr. Bello Adekunle.
He has been arrested and charged for stealing, threat to life and obtaining under false pretence.
According to the Police, the engineer allegedly carted away some of the items provided for the ongoing construction work at the site including 50 bags of cement, 120 pieces of planks and other items.
He was also alleged to have collected N2.8m from Dr Adekunle to buy 0.55mm aluminum roofing sheets but bought 0.33mm to roof the said house, which caused leakage and damaged the POP  in the house.
The matter was reported to the Police by the complainant and the engineer was arrested and detained at Idimu Police station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
And having been was found culpable by the Police after interrogation, he was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Miss K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail with sureties who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
