Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested three robbers, popularly known as “one chance” robbers, who use Aboniki balm on victims along the Airport Road with their vehicle.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the three suspects, Tunde Dosumu, 33, Shola Moses, 50 and Amaechi Ugochukwu, 46, were arrested after they struck on 3rd and 11th June, 2024, along Muritala Muhammad International Airport and robbed victims after rubbing Aboniki Balm on their eyes.

Their activities were reported to the Police at Airport Division who trailed and eventually arrested them before they were detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy, assault and robbery.

Some of the victims they robbed included Mrs. Chidiebere Bernadette Chima, Daniel Mary Omowumi, Juliet Ajuka and others who they dispossessed of their phones, bags ,wallets, laptops, ear rings, watches among others worth an undisclosed amount during the operation.

However, they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
