Woman, 35, Docked For Hiring Assassins To Eliminate Husband Over Squabble

A 35-year old woman, Jumoke Ayoola, has landed in trouble in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly hiring suspected assassins to eliminate her husband, Jide, over a squabble. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on July 4, at about 1:00 pm, in the Oluyole area of Ibadan.

 

She has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan for allegedly threatening to kill her husband.

 

However, she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akeem Akinloye, told the Court that the defendant committed the alleged offence by hiring unknown suspects to kill her husband, Jide, over a misunderstanding they had.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 86 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendant bail of N1 million with two reliable sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.

The matter was adjourned till 6th November, 2024, for mention.
