Dr. Gbenga Owolabi Hosts Annual Quiz And Scholarship Awards For Ife North Students

The grand finale of the maiden edition of the Ife North Local Government Annual Quiz Competition and Scholarship Awards for Government Secondary School students in the council area in Osun State held Saturday 20 July, 2024.

The conclusion of the maiden edition of the scholarship awards organised by Dr. (Engr) Gbenga Ayodele Owolabi took place at Asipa Community High School, Asipa with 46 out of 54 students participated across the 10 out of 15 schools in Ife-North LGA.

The schools are: Origbo Community High (Unity) School, Ipetumodu; Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro; Asipa Community High School, Asipa; LA Grammar School Ipetumodu; Akinlalu Secondary Commercial College, Akinlalu; CAC Commercial Grammar School, Ipetumodu; The Apostolic Grammar School Ipetumodu; C&S Grammar School, Ipetumodu and Anglican High School, Edunabon.

Others are CAC Grammar School, Edunabon; Community High School, Amukegun; Community High School, Oyere –Apamu; Community High School, Okuu Omoni; United High School, Oyere Aborisade and Yakoyo High School, Yakoyo.

During the ceremony, over 40 students were awarded prizes ranging from N100, 000 to N50,000 under various categories.

The awards were given for the Best Three students, and Three Schools as well as three Best Students from each Secondary School that participated.

In the Category 1, which is School Award, Origbo Community High (Unity) School, Ipetumodu emerged the Best School with cash prize of N100,000.

Yakoyo High School, Yakoyo emerged the Second Best School and was awarded N75,000 while the third Best School was  Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro and was rewarded with a cash prize of N50,000.

In the Category 2 (Student Awards) Ayoola Racheal of Origbo Community High (Unity) School, Ipetumodu won the Best Student award and got a cash reward of N100,000.

Olabiyi Favour, also from Origbo Community High (Unity) School, Ipetumodu was the first runner up with cash prize of N75,000 and Imram Hamed from Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro got N50,000 as Second runner up while Olubunmi Jumoke of Yakoyo High School, Yakoyo emerged the third Best and got a cash prize of N50,000.

In the Category 3 of Student Awards on School Basis, 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were also awarded on school basis with over 35 Students went home with N30,000; N20,000 and N10,000 cash award prizes respectively.
