The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach led by renowned preacher, Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, has distanced itself from the continued detention of controversial blogger, Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, popularly known as Ijele, after perfecting his bail.
Speaking on Saturday at the World Press Conference held at the Zion Ground in Okota, Lagos, Mr. Patrick Iheonu, a member of the Ministry’s Evangelical Team, washed the movement’s hands of the blogger’s present predicament while he emphasised the importance of forgiveness as the ministry’s 100-day fast and prayer draws to a close.
Quoting Romans 5:8, which says ‘…God demonstrates His own love toward us, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us’, Iheonu said the Ministry has extended forgiveness and love to everyone who has wrong her including Ijele.
The ministry said it learnt the blogger has remained in detention over other offences that have no connection to the ministry or Evangelist Ebuka Obi, its Spiritual Director.
Iheonu explained that though Zion Ministry instituted a court case against Ijele who is facing trial for threatening the life of Evangelist Obi, the blogger was granted bail some months ago and he perfected his bail conditions and ought to have been released.
“At this juncture, we have forgiven everyone that have wrong us. No matter whom the person or the gravity of the offense. We have let go of those issues. But on the issue of the continued detention of the blogger, we learnt he’s embroiled in other alleged cyber crime offences against other parties not related to Zion Ministry and Evangelist Ebuka for which he is still being held pending his arraignment for the other charges,” said Iheonu.
The Ministry also shed light on the importance of its coming 3-day World Crusade to be held at Ngor Okpala, Imo State from Friday, 23 August to Sunday, 25 August.
According to the Prayer Ministry’s top official, this will be the first time the annual conference will be held outside Lagos, and the crusade will mark the end of the 100-Day Fast and Prayer by the ministry.
“This 100-day fasting is a spiritual journey, fostering a deeper connection with God and facilitating personal transformation. The fast is a period of acknowledging sins, seeking forgiveness like the prodigal son in the Bible and denying oneself worldly desires, such as food and luxuries,” the Ministry stated while enjoining members and non-members worldwide to join the Zion Movement in this transformative spiritual experience.
P.M.EXPRESS learnt Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Prayer Ministry has acquired 21 hectares of land in Ngor Okpala to accommodate the expected large crowd that will attend this year’s 3-Day spiritual programme from different parts of the World.

As part of its desire to contribute to the socioeconomic and spiritual development of Nigeria, the Ministry has already embarked on a massive construction at the site in Imo State which will house hospitals, schools, and reformatory homes.
