Two friends, Mustapha Bello, 32 and Oladele Damilare, 25, have been arrested and charged before the Oyo State Magistrate Court for allegedly being in possession of human parts and interfering with the dead exhumed from the grave.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the defendants were arraigned on three count charge of conspiracy, unlawful possession and interfering with the dead under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Femi Oluwadare, told the Court that the two friends committed the offences on 12th August, 2024, as they were arrested for being in possession a human head of one late Suliyat Olasunkanmi, 36, which they dug out from her grave without lawful justification.

“It was the carpenter, Olasunkanmi, who works around the area where the corpse was buried that went back to cut off her head and hands the next day.”
Oluwadare noted that the offences contravened Sections 242 (1) (b), 329 A and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
However, the two defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges pressed against them.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, M. Mudashiru, granted the defendants to N200,000 bail each, with two sureties each in like sum and one of the sureties must be a blood relation, while the other surety must have N5 million balance in his/her bank account.
