2 Thieves Arrested For Vandalizing Vehicles & Carting Away N5m Spare Parts Inside Estate

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two suspected thieves, who invaded an estate, vandalized vehicles and then carted away spare parts worth N5m before they escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Victory Estate, Ago Okota area of Lagos, where the suspects, Alex Emeka, 24 and Uchenna Innocent, 24, stormed in the early hours of the morning.
Some of the items stolen included vehicle brain box, control buttons, Ac vent glasses, car stereos, door glasses, motor batteries and many others worth the amount in question belonging to Jerry Ugwu.
The suspects were said to have successfully vandalized the vehicles and while they tried to escape, they were apprehended by the Police who were on routine monitoring in the area and detained at the station for interrogation.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Isolo Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Solomon, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I. O. Williams, granted them bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
