A 36-year old woman, identified as Abiola, has died while trying to enlarge her buttocks after a nurse administered an injection at a clinic in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer,  SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed that the nurse who gave the injection to the deceased has been arrested and detained for interrogation over her death.
The tragic incident happened at a clinic in the Lekki area of Lagos, where the woman, Abiola, died after receiving an injection during a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
SP Hundeyin stated: “The driver of the deceased reported the incident at the Maroko Police Division and Police took prompt action over the death”.
“The driver explained that he drove his employer, a resident of Diamond Estate in Sangotedo-Lekki, to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 for a cosmetic procedure to enhance her figure, specifically, a Brazilian Butt Lift. However, Abiola lost her life during the procedure.”
The driver recounted the events leading to Abiola’s death, saying, “Upon our arrival, the clinic owner directed a nurse to administer the injection on Abiola. Moments later, chaos ensued as the woman lost consciousness and started gasping for breath. Desperate for help, the driver rushed Abiola to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 but she was confirmed dead by the staff on duty upon arrival.”
Hundeyin added that detectives had visited the scene, where they “meticulously gathered evidence, inspected and photographed her remains and subsequently transported the corpse to a public morgue for autopsy.”
The nurse involved has been taken into custody, and the Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has ordered an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile the corpse has been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary for autopsy report to ascertain the cause of her sudden death during the procedure to have her buttocks enlarged.
