Man Arrested For Selling killer Vehicle Tyres To The Public As New Products

A 42-year old man, Moshood Kareem has been arrested for allegedly selling condemned vehicle tyres to motorist as new products in Lagos.

The incident happened at 6 Olakunle Street, Papa Ajao, Mushin where his office was located.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect used to pick condemned tyres from dump sites, refurbish them and sell them as new tyres to the public.

However, when the innocent end users buy those products they experience flat tyres or get involved in accidents on the high ways. It was gathered that due to several complaints in the area, the residents tipped the police who went there and arrested Kareem.

The team of police at Olosun Division who carried out the investigation also recovered some of the tyres as exhibits and took them to the police station.

The suspect was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adedayo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 January, 2018.

Meanwhile the residents have commended the police for the arrest of Kazeem for committing such serious crime desiring just money and not caring about lives. Some of the residents who followed him to court said they were in the court to ensure that he was sent to prison because his action might have killed many innocent people.
