Jilted Man, 38, Docked For Posting Girlfriend’s Nude Video On Social Media

A 38-year old jilted man, Noah John, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly posting the nude video of his 25-year old estranged girlfriend to her friends on the social media.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Tokpo area of Badagry, Lagos, where the suspect resides.
According to the Police, the suspect had a disagreement with the victim, who reportedly opted out of the relationship which did not go down well with him.
In order to retaliate, he used her nude video, which was recorded when the relationship was on to fight her as he posted it to her friends on social media and her friends started calling her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
Part of the charges read:
That you, Noah John at about 1400hours, at No. 47, Tokpo Badagry, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district, on the 13th day of September 2024, did made video of the victim, 25, of her nakedness and posted it on social media thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 57 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II: That you, Noah John ‘m’, on the same place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did cause breach of the public peace by recording your (girlfriend’s) nakedness and sending same to three of her friends without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
