Bwala’s Call For US Election: A Proof Of International Recognition

The way of God is often said, a mystery. Such is the mien of Hon. Daniel Bwala personae. Bwala, an astute lawyer, a member of the Lincoln Inn, London, an intelligent public affairs analyst as well as an annotator on international diplomacy was recently chosen as an international observer of the just concluded United States of America’s 2024 presidential elections. The Borno State-born lawyer and politician who served as the Presidential Spokesperson to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP’s) in the 2023 election had in the last 10 months spoken, glowingly about the leadership of the current administration in the country under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

For a man who had since jettisoned politics of rivalry and embraced sportsmanship has repeatedly told anyone who cared to listen that his support for Tinubu-administration was borne out of patriotism and national cohesion. Bwala, who appears unperturbed and unruffled by criticisms from some members of the public affirmed his only allegiance is to the country. After all, he went all out for Nigeria’s numero uno when he went for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries. And of truth, records abound to prove the veracity of these claims.

Bwala had met with President Tinubu between January 2024 and now not less than six (6) times. A very rare privilege that more than half of even Mr. President’s cabinet members do not have. He has also consistently defended the government of the day in majority, if not all of its reforms, having granted more than 32 interviews – both on radios and on TV stations. So, it was only natural that the public would think he would make the last cabinet reshuffle that took place barely 3 weeks ago when names were announced. However, it came as a rude shock to many that somebody who had dissipated his energy pro bono promoting and projecting the image of the president would make the list. But then, it is what it is – politics.

While a lot of politicking was said to have gone into why his name was omitted. Of course there are those who felt threatened by his garb around the president and therefore would go on with many conspiracy theories and shenanigans. However, his international call to observe the just concluded United States of America’s election was a pointer to his intellectual prowess, sapience and sagacity, and the credibility of his personage before the international community. His exposure as a plenipotentiary of repute and immense grandeur is therefore ne’er in doubt. Ilé ni adìyẹ ò ti nìyí – only at home, the fowl is not recognised.

While many of his adversaries had spoken derisively of him, the cynics among them gloatingly talk about his non-inclusion in the latest appointment list while the misanthropes scornfully engage in cockamamy chit-chats. Hey! But then, far from it. Whatever it was was only a Pyrrhic palm by the naysayers – a momentary ecstasy.

What a baleful and deleterious setback for him they had said, unbeknownst to them that whatever makes them ‘orgasm’ today is only but fugacious and evanescent. Their ephemeral ‘triumph’ is actually to further expose their own folly and ineptitude which is now clear anyway.

Little did these mischiemakers know the robust relationship Bwala maintains with the country’s number one remains unblemished and immaculate. Indeed, to attract the admiration (always) of the President of the most populous black nation on surface earth is PRICELESS! It is worthy enough for individuals to tap from such his uncommon grace. It can only be a celestial benison.

Let it be placed on record that if there was anything to be cherished in Hon Bwala, it is his philosophical calmness in the face of harsh criticisms, his composure in midst of ‘pull him down’ legerdemain, his temperament amidst campaign of calumny, and above all, his placidity in the face of open backstab. Such qualities remain treasures not buyable in the open store. Therefore, Hon Bwala should sit back, recumbent and watch how his traducers come back crawling at his feet.
