A man, Olamide Jamiu Adewale, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing bolts and nuts at the premises of Christ Embassy Church.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Adewale has been arrested and charged before the Court for the alleged stealing.

The incident happened on 14th October, 2024, at the church premises at Oregun area of Lagos.

The suspect was caught stealing the items and handed over to the officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, who arraigned him on behalf of the Attorney General of Lagos State.

He was said to have picked the bolts and nuts, which he intended to sell and use the money to buy food. But he was unlucky as the security men on duty caught him and informed the management who directed that he should be prosecuted for the alleged offence to serve as deterrent to others who might want to do so in the church.

The charges read:

“That you, Olamide Jamiu Adewale on the 14th day of October 2024 at about 0600hrs, at the premises of Christ Embassy Church, Oregun, Ikeja, in Lagos State within the jurisdiction of the Magistrate Court, Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire with another at large to commit a felony to wit, steal bolts and nuts, property of Christ Embassy Church thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 411 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the security agency to present witnesses to testify and prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A Owolabi, granted him bail with surety, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while address will be verified by the Court.
