Kidnapper Arrested After Collecting N15m Ransom In Anambra

Operatives from the Anambra State Police Command have successfully apprehended a 34-year-old man, Nwokpoku Emmanuel, for his alleged involvement in kidnapping and armed robbery. The suspect’s arrest comes after he and his gang members collected a N15m ransom from their victim.
According to the State Police Spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect, Emmanuel, was taken into custody after a thorough investigation, which led to the recovery of the kidnapped victim’s red Mercedes Benz GLE 450. The vehicle was tracked and recovered at MCC Junction in Onitsha.
The Police revealed that the victim was kidnapped in a neighbouring state and was later released after the ransom was paid. However, the kidnappers made off with the victim’s vehicle, which has now been recovered.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Police are currently on the trail of other gang members, particularly the leader, known as ‘Ebuka.’ The State Police Command has activated a plan to apprehend the remaining gang members and bring them to justice.
In a statement, the Police Spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga said: “The Anambra State Police Command have in custody one Nwokpoku Emmanuel(M) aged 34 years from Ebonyi State, living in Oduke-Obosi over a case of armed robbery and kidnapping”.
The arrest of Nwokpoku Emmanuel has shed light on a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in the region. The syndicate’s modus operandi involves kidnapping victims and demanding hefty ransoms. In this case, the syndicate collected a whopping N15m ransom from their victim.
