Native Doctor & Man, 29, Arrested For Killing His Mother & Dumping Corpse Inside Well For Ritual

The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a native doctor and 29-year old man for allegedly killing his mother, shaving her hairs and dumping her corpse inside a well on Christmas day for ritual purposes. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer,
 SP Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect now undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct at State Headquarters in Calabar town.
The Police image maker stated that the incident happened on 25th December,2024, in Batriko, Eastern Boki Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The ugly incident was reported to the Police combined team and the security team of Obudu Council area, who trailed the suspect. But the Police declined to give his name due to inconclusive investigation and eventually arrested him.
According to reports, the suspect had dumped his mother’s body in a well in Obudu LGA, while security operatives had been tracking him since the incident occurred.
According to the Police, the suspect, who was arrested alongside a native doctor, who was brought to the State Command for further investigation as the Police had already found them culpable for homicide.
The suspect was alleged to have shaved his dead mother’s hair and dumped her remains in a well and thereafter escaped. He took her shaved hairs to the native doctor for ritual purposes.
However, the fleeing suspect was arrested by security operatives at the shrine of the native doctor with a bag containing his late mother’s shaved hair and was detained at the Police station.
“As I speak with you, the suspect and the native doctor are presently cooling off at the Obudu Divisional Police Headquarters,” Police sources stated.
The Police image maker stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for the alleged murder under the Criminal Laws of the State but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
